Mononoke: Kusuriuri 02

A wandering Medicine Seller, the Kusuriuri uses an enchanted sword to slay the “mononoke”, a type of ayakashi or unnatural spirits that linger in the human world. In order to successfully perform the exorcism, the Medicine Seller must find the Katachi (shape), Mokoto (truth), and the Kotowari (reasoning) of the mononoke. Once the sword is unsheathed, he transforms into a demon-like creature.

Durarara!!: Heiwajima Shizuo and Orihara Izaya

Izaya and Shizuo have hated each other with a passion almost as soon as they first met one another. It was said in the novels that Izaya constantly framed Shizuo for crimes he didn’t commit. In the anime series, Izaya adds daily attacks from gangs aside from framing him. Although they are on bad terms, Shizuo is well-acquainted with Izaya’s twin sisters, Mairu and Kururi.

Deviant artists ~kozikiryu is Shizuo and =Lindzar is Izaya in this lovely photo. I could not un-see this when I first saw it in Lindzar’s gallery. Izaya really needs to stop pissing Shizuo off. Thanks to Lindzar for allowing me to feature her!

Mononoke: Kusuriuri

A mysterious wandering man with a vast knowledge of the supernatural, Kusuriuri, also known as the Medicine Seller, has the ability to slay demons with the use of his enchanted sword. While his origins are unknown, the Medicine Seller is not entirely human, as he has elf ears and pointy canine teeth. When the Ayakashi asked him his fear, he calmly answers he is afraid that there is no form, truth, or regret at the edge of the world, thus no longer having a reason to exist.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 Cast

In the fictional town of Inaba, unexplained murders have taken place where the bodies were found dangling among television antennas with the victims dying of unknown causes. A group of high school students followed a rumor stating that watching a switched-off television set will reveal a person’s soul mate. They discovered a fog-shrouded world with monsters called Shadows. They also discovered their Shadow Selves to be their suppressed personalities and confronting them awakened their ability to summon beings known as Personas. Together, they formed an investigative team to find the connection between the TV World and the murders occurring in their town.

Dees and her friends are the characters featured in this cosplay. I’m not familiar with the game, so I’m not sure who’s who. Anyone care to name all the characters in the photo? Thanks to Rivkin for sending this!

Final Fantasy: Black Mage

Another special job class featured in several game installments of Final Fantasy, the Black Mage is the offensive magic caster of the Warriors of Light. Although they are ill-suited for wielding weapons and have the lowest HP out of any character class, Black Mages are capable of inflicting negative effect spells that cause great damage to their opponents. They have weak combat skills but can easily bend destructive magic spells to their will.

A rather interesting interpretation of the Black Mage by Alodia Gosiengfiao! I love her pointy ears and mini wizard hat. Thanks again to Jei for sending this in!

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!: Byakuran 02

The former boss of the Gesso Family, Byakuran is the incumbent leader of the Millefiore Famiy. He wishes to obtain ultimate power by gathering the Vongola Rings, Mare Rings, and Arcobaleno Pacifiers together in one place. His assassination of both the Vongola and Arcobaleno Families including their friends and allies prove that he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Yet despite his ruthlessness towards his enemies, he maintains a carefree nature towards his subordinates.

Tsubasa - Reservoir Chronicle: Sakura 04

When Syaoran was revealed to be a clone, Sakura became distant from the group, especially to the real Syaoran. Although her soul is eventually killed by the clone, she confessed that she is merely the clone of the real Tsubasa. Fei Wong Reed created her for the sole purpose of mapping out dimensions by finding the scattered feathers.

Final Fight: Poison

Poison first appeared in the side-scrolling action game known as Final Fight. The character was originally planned to be female, but was changed to a male transvestite due to the suggestion that hitting women were considered rude in America during the game’s release. When asked about the matter, Street Fighter IV’s producer Ono Yoshinori stated:

“Let's set the record straight: In North America, Poison is officially a post-op transsexual. But in Japan, she simply tucks her business away to look female.”

Interesting information on this character that I’ve never even heard of. Hope that doesn’t scare her fans away… Thanks to Michelle for sharing this!

Durarara!!: Celty Sturluson

A Dullahan from Ireland, Celty Sturluson is a supernatural being who came to Japan in search for her stolen head. She has no heart and is able to perceive and function via unknown censors that are not located on the head. Celty is able to manipulate a shadow-like substance to form objects ranging from gloves to chariots at will.

Despite her strength and power, Celty does fear one thing: that if her stolen head is destroyed, she may also cease to exist.

I was quite stunned to see this in Mezurashi and knew that I would have to feature this ASAP. I wonder Valefor Ho is the photographer? In any case, thanks for sharing this!

Dolls: Mikoshiba Shouta and Aikawa Rami

Mikoshiba Shouta is the Captain of the First Brigade while Aikawa Rami is the Captain of the Second Brigade. Shouta is considered a legend, because after he graduated at the top of his class, he was assigned to the First Division and held that position for a record of 5 years, the longest in history. Rami, on the other hand, is a feminist and fights to be acknowledged, not just because of her gender, but also the skills she possesses that allowed her to become captain.

The White Mage is a special job class in the Final Fantasy game series which is featured in several installments. Although they are physically weak, they have a broad array of healing and defensive magic spells. The White Mage is a peaceful healer among the Warriors of Light.

Cobra's Intelligence Officer and lieutenant to Cobra Commander, The Baroness is a dark, sensual, femme fatale whose beauty is matched only by her ruthlessness. She has a romantic relationship with Laird James McCullen Destro XXIV, weapons manufacturer and supplier to Cobra. The Baroness’ real name is Anastasia Cisarovna aka Anastasia DeCobray who was on hand for the Tet Offensive in 1968.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII: Stella Nox Fleuret

Said to be the daughter of the Fleuret Family from the country of Tenebrae, Stella Nox Fleuret is an enemy to Noctis Lucis Caelum, although her allegiances are unclear. She is ladylike and polite but is direct in her manner, acting according to her beliefs. Her weapon of choice is a rapier which she can summon from a golden rune similar to Noctis and his sword.

Card Captor Sakura: The Watery

One of the elemental cards in Card Captor Sakura, the Watery enjoyed staying with its element in the town’s aquarium as it has the ability to control water. This is the fourth card Kinomoto Sakura captures in her quest to retrieve all the Clow Cards that have scattered. She was able to seal Watery by using the Windy and Fly Cards.

Cosplayer ~Federkiel takes an artistic approach to the Watery card with breath-taking results! I love all the blue and green hues she used in this cosplay. Soul Eater: Medusa

Sinister, scheming, and incredibly cunning, Medusa is a snake-like witch who researched on the effects of black blood. She hoped to use black blood in order to control Asura and reshape the world as she sees fit. Her body contains 1000 magical snakes which can be used as weapons known as “Vector Arrows”.

Sailor Moon R: Black Lady

Once Chibiusa returned to the future with Sailor Moon, Wiseman captured her and twisted her memories of her family in order to make her do as he wishes. Lonely and full of guilt, Chibiusa was infected with the Black Crystal and grew older, donning the earrings and crescent of the Black Moon Clan. She went so far as to seduce her future father, Chiba Mamoru, and attempted to destroy the Senshi for their insensitivity towards her.

Final Fantasy VII: Reno

Cocky, cynical, and lazy, Reno is a highly skilled and prominent member of Turks, ranking directly below Tseng. Reno is rivals with Cloud Strife, but helped him out when Elena and Yuffie were kidnapped by Don Corneo. Soon after this incident, Reno received orders to find Cloud, but he decides not to fight on the pretext of being off duty.
